Question
Some people like to organize and plan parties or other social events. Others prefer not to organize parties and would rather simply attend events that they have been invited to. Which way do you prefer and why?
As for me, I’d rather simply attend events that I've been invited to.
To begin with, I have a hectic schedule. For example, currently, I have to deal with a bunch of different tasks such as writing papers, doing presentations, studying for exams, and so on. Organizing an event is quite time-consumingand energy-consuming, so I may not be able to focus on my study.
In addition, it relieves me of the stress associated with organizing these events. You know, organizing an activity involves a lot of pressure, from coming up with a plan, managing the budget, to dealing with unexpected issues. By contrast, by just attending, I can relax and focus on having fun.
have a hectic schedule
a bunch of 一堆/帮/束…
relieve sb of sth
associated with 与…… 相关
come up with 想出
deal with unexpected issues
From my perspective, I much prefer to organize and plan parties or social events.
Firstly, it serves as a good opportunity for me to develop creativity and organizational skills. This is because during this process, I need to think hard about various things, like the theme and the schedule, and organize all the procedures well. I believe this experience will have a positive influence on me and help me to become well-rounded.
Additionally, when organizing these events, I get to know more people better than when I just attend such events, because I need to ask them about their preferences or schedules, so that I can build stronger bonds with different participants and form life-long connections with them, enabling me to enlarge my social circles.
…serve as a good opportunity for me to… …
think hard about 努力思考…
have a positive influence on 对…
well-rounded adj.
build stronger bonds with 和…
form life-long connections with 和…
enlarge my social circles
As for me, it depends on the specific occasion.
When it comes to some really important events like my parents’ or best friend’s birthday, I would choose to take charge of planning. I would put a lot of time and effort into it to ensure perfection. For example, last year, together with my sister, I organized a surprise birthday party for my mother. She was on top of the world.
However, for some casual gatherings, I would just participate. For example, sometimes, my friends would invite me to a picnic outdoors; as a social butterfly, I would be happy to join them, but I don’t need to plan or organize the activity because they have already taken care of it.

depend on 要看…
When it comes to 当谈到…
